Emerging report revealed that the immediate past Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has left the country, after his purported arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. This came a few hours after the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, called on Okorocha to surrender to the EFCC. This was confirmed by the Chairman of the Inauguration Planning and Handover Committee, Barr. Chris Okewulonu.
“We are literally in the dark so to speak, of course the out-gone Governor gave us no cooperation whatsoever. Unlike what we have had in the past during previous transitions here in Imo State, and as was performed in other States, not one document has been handed over to the new administration.” Okewulonu also said that there was never a meeting between the out-gone and the new Governor, since after the election, adding that, “the former Governor has left the country”.
“What we have in Imo now can only be described as a void. But Governor Ihedioha is undeterred and indeed poised to forging ahead in his mission to rebuild the broken State”, he said.
