Strictly’s Kevin Clifton denies romance with Louise Redknapp after curse rumours

Strictly Come Dancing pro Kevin Clifton has lifted the lid on what really happened with his partner Louise Redknapp .

The dancer, 36, was paired with Louise, 44, back in 2016, and subsequently her marriage to Jamie fell apart and so did Kevin’s relationship with wife Karen.

Fans couldn’t help but speculate they’d fallen victim to the infamous Strictly curse, but Kevin is adamant he’d never get involved with a dance partner.

When asked if any of his show partnerships had turned romantic, he told The Sun : “No, never.

“You’re there to do a job and get on with the dancing. That’s what it’s about.”

Louise’s almost 20-year marriage to ex-footballer Jamie ended in late 2017 while Kevin split from Karen last year.

There was speculation that Kevin’s close friendship with Louise had angered Karen.

However, Kevin and Karen did their best to keep their split amicable and even set off on tour together after their marriage had broken down.

Kevin’s latest update comes as he prepares to write a tell-all TV drama about the ruthless world of ballroom competition.

The professional dancer, who won this year’s BBC series with TV presenter Stacey Dooley, plans to script the gritty reality behind the glitz and glamour.

Kevin is in talks about the project with comedian Susan Calman – his dance partner from the 2017 series of Strictly.

The glitterball champ said: “There’s a TV drama I would really like to write based around the ballroom dance world – not the glitz and the glamour. Me and Susan have been talking about it quite a lot.

It doesn’t really need to have much dancing in it.

“I want it to be a drama on the competitiveness, the politics, the dynamics between partnerships and what they have to go through to win.”

Kevin plans to draw on his own experiences in the business and those of his friends and family, including sister and former Strictly star Joanne Clifton.

He told BBC Humberside’s David Burns: “My whole family really has a lot of stories from that world
