The technically defeated boko haram insurgents by the All Progressives Congress, APC, Federal Government, have burnt down an entire village in Northern Nigeria.
It was learnt that this attack, which is the second in three days, occurred in the remote village of Mbolakel, some six kilometres away from Chibok town, at about 11:45pm, on Christmas Day. The insurgents injured at least three persons, and razed the whole village.
Eyewitness reports revealed that the deafening sound of gunshots roused them from their sleep, and the smoke could still be seen from a distance, hours after.
“The heavy gunshots woke us up”, one, who simply identified himself as Musa, said.
“We saw the flames from faraway. Early this morning, we went to Mbolakel Village; it was burnt down, three wounded, there was no loss of lives.”
Meanwhile, boko haram terrorists, also on Tuesday, beheaded one of Governor Ibrahim Gaidam’s Security Aides, in Kukareta, a suburb of Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
The deceased, who goes by the name, Inspector Ahmed, alongside his colleagues, were returning to Damaturu, after an official assignment in Maiduguri.
It was gathered that they met the boko haram insurgents dressed in Military uniform, at a roadblock.
The insurgents outrightly shot Inspector Ahmed, and subsequently beheaded him, while the remaining Police escorts ran back, without any attempt to rescue their colleague.
A Police source who did not want his name to be published, confirmed the killing and the beheading of the Inspector.
The source described the incident as unfortunate, saying that, the Inspector passed away when the Police Command in the State needed him the most.
“However, from God we came, and to him we shall return. We have no authority to query God.
“We leave it as an act of God, and ask God to forgive his sins. The best we can do to him, is to continue to work and defend what he died for”, the source said.
